Two Minute Tuesday
READ TIME: 2 minutes
Happy Tuesday!

I woke up the other morning asking myself, “ Why did I start all of this in the first place?”“Why do I write this newsletter every week?”“Why did I write a book?”And most of all, “Why did I even start putting out content in general?” Well, among the many answers that jump out to me, the main one that is abundantly clear is the fact that I was curious. I was curious to see how you all would respond. I was curious to see if what I had to say would actually help someone. Actually take someone to the next level. Curiosity never killed anybody. In fact, curiosity is the way to all things human connection. And that’s what we’re all here for, so today I want to talk to you about the importance of curiosity and why it is important to go deeper than just the surface. After reading this, you will be more informed on the importance of curiosity & prepared to be proactive in your relationships in life and in work. Let’s dive in!Curiosity leads to knowledge, skill and developmentThrough an eagerness to learn and gain insight, leaders expand their knowledge base and skill set as well. Along with highly developed people skills, curiosity often raises a leader’s capacity for strategic thought, high-level planning, and innovative problem-solving.Being curious shows that you care. Ever been talking to someone about something really important to you and it seems like the other person just isn’t that interested? It’s not a good feeling. We want to know that the people we work with & spend time with care about our interests. After all, we spend the most time with our colleagues. Sometimes being curious isn’t just listening, it can be expressed in action too. If you’re trying to develop a deeper relationship with a new team member or a team member who you’ve known for a while, try this. Action Items- If they talk about their kids, perhaps let them leave work early every now and then to pick the kids up or spend more time with their family.- If they tell you about how weekends are an important day for them and how their family attends church regularly, don’t schedule them to work on weekends when it conflicts.Curiosity as a tool for impact At the end of the day, words matter, but actions are even bigger. When you show interest in someone else’s life, it leads to them feeling more emotionally safe & trusting of you. Which in turn will lead to them caring more about helping the organization anyway that they can. Find what little ways you can help your employees become more satisfied with their jobs and
Thus, more motivated to keep up the good work.I hope this helped, see you on the next one.Until next time, Pierre Inspires
