What's your leadership style? šŸ¤”

Happy Tuesday my friend!šŸ™ŒI hope this email reaches you well and that you had a restful Memorial Day weekend. Beyond the rest, it is important to remember the sacrifice that has been made for us by countless men and women. Today I want to talk about something that a lot of leaders haven’t taken the time to think about. Some leaders may not even know what it is, but it could be one of the single most important things when it comes to being a leader. It’s our leadership style. It’s one of those things that we don’t really talk about or pay attention to right? Because we’ve been appointed to lead in numerous situations we feel as though our leadership style must work for ourselves and everyone around us. or maybe we’ve never been ā€œappointedā€ a leader. You’re a leader no matter what!It is so important that our leadership style is consistently adapting to those we serve, our environment, and changes in our own lives as well. So how can you effectively use your leadership style? Well it starts with knowing your leadership style first and knowing what the 4 leadership styles even are.If you aren’t sure what your leadership style is, don’t worry, I didn’t figure my own out until later in my career and it was completely opposite of what I thought it would be. Here are the 4 leadership styles you need to know about šŸ‘‡1ļøāƒ£ The Pragmatist Leader. Have high standards, and they expect themselves, and their team members, to meet those standards.2ļøāƒ£ The Idealist Leader. High-energy achievers who believe in the positive potential of everyone around them. Idealists want to learn and grow, and they want everyone else on the team to do the same. (Coaches, this is you!)3ļøāƒ£ The Stewardship Leader. Are the rocks of organizations. They're dependable, loyal and helpful, and they provide a stabilizing and calming force for their employees.4ļøāƒ£ The Diplomat Leader. Prize interpersonal harmony. They are the social glue and affiliative force that keeps groups together.Any hunch on which you might be? I’m sure you drew to one right away, but the truth is it may not be the case.So how do you define your leadership style? These 3ļøāƒ£ tips will get you started. šŸ’„ Start with defining your purpose. What is your WHY as a leader? šŸ’„Solicit feedback from those who work directly with you, beneath you, and report to you.šŸ’„ Own your identity. Make no apologies. Don’t be afraid to fight in your own armor.
