Why should you be vulnerable? The answer to this question lies in understanding that showing your vulnerabilities will help build trust with employees, as well as show them that you're a real person. In this article, we'll talk about how being vulnerable can lead to an increase in employee trust and make your workplace more productive overall. Here are two key ways that vulnerability can lead to extreme trust amongst your employeesShow your vulnerabilities, show you're a real person“We’re all just people, right?”
You might be surprised by how much this statement resonates with people. You can tell them you don't have all the answers and that they should trust their own instincts. You can also share how life has taught you something new each day, and how you often get it wrong—but that doesn't mean they should give up.
Employees will trust you more if you are vulnerable first
Employees will trust you more if you are vulnerable first. We’re all human, and when we can relate to someone, it makes us feel more comfortable with them. This is especially true when it comes to work relationships—if your employees see that you are willing to be open about your own flaws and issues, they will feel more comfortable sharing their own struggles with you.Trust comes from vulnerabilityVulnerability is not a weakness. It's a strength.
It allows people to trust you more and relate to you more effectively because they know that you are human and that they can count on you in the future when things get tough. When we become vulnerable with one another, we build trust, which is the cornerstone of all great relationships: romantic, familial and platonic alike.Vulnerability as a corner stoneI hope you feel empowered to share your vulnerabilities with your employees. It’s a powerful thing to do, and it can lead to so many benefits in terms of trust, loyalty and productivity. I also hope I have given you some ideas on how to make this easier for yourself. It isn’t easy. I hope this helps as you take your next step to getting what you deserve!Until next time, Pierre Inspires
